INTERNAL STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT MEETING WITH FUSAG AND TEWU – UPSA@60

On July 31, 2025, the UPSA@60 Planning Committee convened an Internal Stakeholders Engagement Meeting with the Federation of University Senior Staff Associations of Ghana (FUSAG) and Teachers and Educational workers union (TEWU) This meeting was a vital component of the University’s preparations for its 60th Anniversary, aiming to ensure equitable involvement, coordination, and a cohesive approach among all stakeholders.
The primary objectives of the meeting were to:
– Foster collaboration among internal stakeholders.
– Enhance communication regarding the 60th Anniversary planning.
– Encourage active participation and ownership in the anniversary celebrations
Mr. Francis Dadzie, the Chairman of the UPSA@60 Stakeholders Engagement Sub-Committee and a Consultant, delivered an extensive presentation. The key points of his presentation included, Inclusive Planning Emphasizing the importance of involving all stakeholders in the planning process to ensure diverse perspectives and contributions.
Highlighting strategies for clear and consistent communication among stakeholders to facilitate collaboration.
Encouraging stakeholders to take ownership of the anniversary celebrations to foster a sense of community and shared purpose.
Branding and Stakeholder Involvement Tactics, offering insights into effective branding strategies and methods to engage stakeholders throughout the anniversary celebrations.
The meeting resulted in meaningful Interactions, Productive discussions between the Planning Committee and stakeholders reaffirmed a strong commitment to support the anniversary celebrations.
Internal entities expressed their readiness to actively participate in various aspects of the anniversary planning and celebration.
The Internal Stakeholders Engagement Meeting with FUSAG and TEWU marked a significant step in fostering collaboration and building a shared vision for a memorable 60th Anniversary celebration. The engagement not only reinforced existing relationships but also paved way for innovative ideas and coordinated efforts that will contribute to the success of the upcoming celebration
Moving forward, it is essential to maintain these collaborative efforts and ensure communication among all stakeholders as the planning progresses.
CONTRIBUTIONS AFTER THE PRESENTATION.
- A member proposed that employees who have served the university for over 40 years should be recognized as integral to its 60-year success story. It was suggested that their contributions be honoured with a more meaningful award than a plaque during the awards night.
- A member (cleaner) also proposed promotions based on long service instead of asking for academic merits since most of them are too old to go back to school.
- A member suggested adopting a different school instead of La Nkwantanang, so that other schools could also benefit from donations during such occasions.
The session concluded on a collaborative and positive note with a FUSSAG member saying the closing prayer. Session ended at 3:00pm.
