UPSA Management Pays Courtesy Call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Ahead of 60th Anniversary Celebrations

The Management of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), on January 30, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The visit offered the University the opportunity to brief His Majesty on the progress and current status of the Otumfuo Centre for Leadership. Management also formally invited Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to UPSA’s forthcoming 60th Anniversary celebrations and expressed heartfelt gratitude for his guidance and interventions, which have contributed significantly to restoring stability and order within the institution.

The delegation was led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, and included the Council Chairman, Dr Harry L. K. Agbanu; the Registrar, Mrs Lorraine Buerkie Gyan; distinguished alumnus, Hon. Kan Dapaah; and the President of the UPSA Global Alumni, Mr Francis Dadzie.

During the visit, the President of the UPSA Global Alumni, Mr Francis Dadzie, presented His Majesty with a custom-made 60th Anniversary Lacoste shirt as a goodwill gesture from the global alumni community. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II received the gift with excitement and appreciation, commending the alumni for their thoughtfulness and continued support for the University.


The visit reaffirmed UPSA’s commitment to deepening its relationship with the Manhyia Palace and strengthening collaboration in advancing leadership, professionalism, and national development.
