Driving National Transformation Through Professional Education

At a significant milestone event marking the relaunch of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) as a Directorate of UPSA,
Dr. Emmanuel Newman underscored the importance of professional education in shaping a globally competitive workforce.
He emphasised the importance of adopting flexible, lifelong learning pathways—particularly through micro-credentials and certified short courses—as essential tools for equipping professionals to remain relevant and adaptable in an ever-evolving workforce.
Dr. Newman further underscored the need to bridge academic scholarship with practical training, advocating for a new generation of graduates who combine strong theoretical foundations with real-world competence.
Reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment, he noted its continued support for institutions that champion excellence, innovation, and industry relevance, positioning IPS as a key driver in developing a skilled, ethical, and future-ready workforce for Ghana and beyond.
