UPSA @60: Delegation Pays Courtesy Visit to CIMG

As part of activities marking the 60th Anniversary of the University of Professional Studies, Accra, a delegation from University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) paid a courtesy visit to the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana on Monday, 16 March 2026.

The delegation was led by the Chairman of the UPSA 60th Anniversary Planning Committee and Chief Executive Officer of CIMG, Kwabena Agyekum. During the meeting, he outlined key programmes planned for the anniversary celebrations, including the relaunch of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) scheduled for 17 March 2026.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Agyekum explained that the anniversary celebrations began last year and will conclude in July 2026. He noted that the purpose of the courtesy visit was to engage professional bodies particularly CIMG to play active roles in the anniversary activities and future collaborations. He added that the University welcomes any interest or proposals from CIMG to strengthen its participation in the celebrations.

The Vice Chairman of the Planning Committee and President of the UPSA Global Alumni Association, Francis Dadzie, highlighted the significance of the visit and formally invited professional bodies, including CIMG, to participate in the UPSA @60 celebrations. He further disclosed that as part of the anniversary activities, the University will host a Business Conclave for CEOs in May, which is expected to be attended by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, an esteemed alumnus of UPSA.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The UPSA delegation was received by the President of CIMG, Michael Abbiw and Rita Angmor. In his remarks, Mr. Abbiw expressed appreciation to the delegation and commended UPSA for the significant progress it has made over the years. He pledged the Institute’s full support toward the successful celebration of the University’s 60th anniversary and said the institution will be presented fully in the UPSA’s branded T’ shirt in tomorrow’s relaunch.

He further noted that CIMG would be delighted to partner with UPSA on key projects and programmes, adding that such collaboration could create valuable sponsorship opportunities for students and support other academic and professional initiatives.

Other members of the UPSA delegation included the Director of IPS, Fidelis Quansah; the Deputy Director of Administration, Leticia Akyeampong; and A. Juliana Andoh.

The visit forms part of UPSA’s broader engagement strategy with professional bodies and industry partners as it commemorates six decades of excellence in professional and higher education.
