UPSA @60: Delegation Pays Courtesy Visit to Prof. Joshua Alabi

On Tuesday, 10 March 2026, a delegation from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) paid a courtesy visit to the former Vice-Chancellor of UPSA and Interim Board Chairman of GCB Bank, Prof. Joshua Alabi, as part of activities marking the institution’s 60th Anniversary celebrations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The delegation was led by the Chairman of the UPSA 60th Anniversary Planning Committee and Chief Executive Officer of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), Mr. Kwabena Agyekum. During the meeting, he highlighted key programmes lined up for the anniversary celebrations, including the relaunch of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) scheduled for 17 March 2026.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Vice Chairman of the Planning Committee and President of the UPSA Global Alumni Association, Mr. Francis Dadzie, emphasized the significance of the visit and formally invited Prof. Alabi to participate in the UPSA @60 celebrations. He also noted that as part of the anniversary activities, the University will host a Business conclave Conference for CEO’s in May, which is expected to be attended by the Asantehene, an esteemed alumnus of UPSA.

In his response, Prof. Joshua Alabi expressed appreciation to the delegation for remembering him as one of the early lecturers of the Institute of Professional Studies and for the opportunity he had to serve as the first Vice-Chancellor of UPSA. He commended the University for the progress it has made over the years and pledged his full support towards the successful celebration of the 60th anniversary.

Members of the UPSA delegation included the Director of IPS, Prof. Fidelis Quansah; Deputy Director of Administration, Dr. Mrs. Leticia Akyeampong; and Dr. Mrs. A. Juliana Andoh.
