UPSA@60 Anniversary Planning Committee Presents Commemorative Cloth to University Management

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has marked a significant milestone in its Diamond Jubilee celebrations, with the official presentation of the commemorative anniversary cloth on Friday, 24th April, 2026 by the UPSA 60th Anniversary Planning Committee to the University Management.
Receiving the commemorative cloth on behalf of Management, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Kweku Mensah Mawutor, expressed sincere appreciation to the Planning Committee for their commitment and meticulous efforts in successfully advancing the ongoing 60th Anniversary celebrations.
The Vice-Chancellor further conveyed his satisfaction with the progress made thus far, commending the Committee for its strategic coordination and dedication to delivering a memorable and impactful anniversary celebration.
Also present at the ceremony were key members of University Management, including the Registrar, Mrs. Lorraine Gyan, and Prof. Ernest Kofi Abotsi, Dean of the UPSA Law School, who both acknowledged the importance of the initiative.

Representing the UPSA 60th Anniversary Planning Committee were Mr. Francis Dadzie, UPSA@60 Planning Committee Vice-Chair and Global Alumni President and Dr. Leticia Akyeampong, UPSA@60 Planning Committee Secretary, who formally presented the cloth and highlighted the inspiration behind its design. They noted that the cloth reflects the University’s evolution from its origins as a professional training institution to its current stature as a leading tertiary institution with a strong reputation for excellence.
The presentation of the anniversary cloth forms part of a series of activities planned to commemorate UPSA’s 60-year journey of impact, growth, and transformation. As the University advances towards this historic milestone, the initiative reinforces a shared sense of pride and positions the institution for an even more dynamic and forward-looking future.
