The UPSA Global Alumni Association has presented a cash donation of GH₵20,000 to the Kumabia Family in Accra on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
This follows the passing of Michael Mawuko Kumabia of the 1997-year group, an alumnus and a staunch member of the association.
The late Michael Kumabia, until his demise, was a member of the Enterprise Life Alumni Insurance scheme.
The Alumni insurance scheme provides lump-sum financial support to members during difficult times and times of loss.
President of the UPSA Global Alumni Association, Mr Francis Dadzie, in presenting the cash cheque to the family, commiserated with them on their loss.
He underscored the importance of the enterprise life insurance scheme while expressing the association’s commitment to attending to the needs of its members beyond the academic benefits.
“This donation is to redeem part of the cost of the funeral of the late Mr Kumabia,” Mr Dadzie said. “As an association, we are also pledging our unwavering support to the family in these difficult times.
The children of the deceased, led by Jason, Duke Edem, and Shalom Fafa Kumabia, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Global Alumni Association for the kind gesture and honour bestowed on their late dad. They also expressed their gratitude to the President of Global Alumni Association and members for attending both the one-week and the final funeral rite held on the 9th of February 2024.
